My interview with Karen Musgrave's Quilters' S.O.S. - Save Our Stories

   I was recently interviewed about my piece 'Yes! We Can!' for the exhibit "President Obama: A Celebration in Art Quilts," from February 9 to March 5, 2009 in the main gallery (King Street Gallery) of the Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation Arts Center, Silver Spring, Maryland. http://www.allianceforamericanquilts.org/qsos/ It was a real honor to be included in this project started by Karen Musgrave, and will be saved in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

Art Quilts at the Whistler IV Award!

   Winter Tree received the most votes and has received the Viewers Choice award at Whistler House Museum of Art.

Kittery Point Marsh will be shown at Threadlines at Missouri State University

   The exhibition was juried by Jason Pollen, Professor and Chairman of the fiber department at Kansas City Art Institute. Pollen is also President of the Surface Design Association. September 5 - 29

Quilting Arts TV show

   Wen has appeared on the new Quilting Arts TV show, coming to Public TV stations nationally. She did a segment on her innovative digital fiber art. The segment is called Holographic Memories. Call your local station to request this great new quilting show! In conjunction with this, she will also offer a workshop on this subject with Quilting Arts Festival, an upcoming virtual computer Quilt Festival, complete with workshops and galleries.

Innovative Fabric Imagery for Quilts

   Honorable Mention: Shadow by Wen Redmond The exhibit was judged based upon the following criteria: Creative use of digital imagery and techniques; Originality of work; and Quality of workmanship. The exhibit was judged by Ricky Tims of The Quilt Show and Ricky Tims Studios and by Patricia Bolton, Editor of Quilting Arts magazine. It was a tough decision as the judges reviewed and debated the merits of each of the entries.

2008 Niche' Awards Finalist

   My piece, “Bird In Arms,” is a finalist in the 2008 NICHE Awards competition in the Fiber - Pieced/Quilted category! The Rosen group hosts the fabulous Crafts shows out of Baltimore, MD.

Art Quilt Elements

   My art work "Crumpled" was juried into Art Quilt Elements, a prestigious show. It is at the Wayne Art Center in Philadelphia, Pa. April 4, thru May 18, 2008. The opening of this show is also in conjunction with the SAQA/SDA Symposium "Breaking New Ground". The jurors for this show were B. J. Adams, Fiber Artist; Mi-Koung Lee, Head of Fibers/Assistant Professor, The University of the Arts Philadelphia; and Robert Shaw, Author and Curator. Solo Show

    Brainwave- an innovative transparent layered collage has juried into Art Quilts Lowell. The exhibit opens August 2 to October 28, 2007. Jurors were Rayna Gillman and Nancy Halpern. For more information- www.thebrush.org

ACCEPTED in Published book by C&T Publishing on Digital Fabric

   Digital holographic piece "Shadow" was accepted for a C&T publishing book on digital fabric imagery. The book will be published later this year.

Juried into Fiber Directions 2007, Wichita Center for the Arts, Kansas

   Jason Pollen, SDA president and chair of Fiber department at Kansas City Art Institute, juried in Crumpled for Fiber Directions. The exhibit starts March 16 and ends May 20. Crumpled is an original digital photograph manipulated and ink jet printed on Belgium linen.

Juried into New Hampshire Art Association 59th Currier Art Exhibit

   Essence, a giclee', holographic and surfaced designed fiber/mixed media piece was accepted into this exhibit which will be held at UNH's Paul Creative Art Center's Gallery during the Currier's remodeling. The exhibit dates are 1/27 to 4/7/07.

Seacoast Openings

   If you're in the Seacoast area of NH, please visit Portsmouth Fabric CO. I am opening a solo show called After All These Years, A Retrospective. It opens the 9th at 5:00 to 8:00 and lasts until March 18th. Lots of other galleries are open also for the Portsmouth, NH around town art walk. Lets support ART! I also have pieces in the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery, Side By Side show until March 4th. My local town Rochester, sports 2 galleries now. Artstream will have a show called LOVE in which proceeds go toward breast cancer research, opening on the 10th at 5:00. I hope to see YOU!

Acceptance Jewish Women's Network Exhibit 'word within' NYC

   “And the hand was female” has been selected for the JWAN exhibit words within. The exhibit, February 12 to March 29, 2007 is at the Kraft Center for Jewish Life at Columbia University , New York City. The Artist’s Reception and panel discussion is Sunday, February 18, 3:30 PM.
